Dentures
Dentures can be provided in a variety of materials for temporary or permanent use.
Acrylic dentures are light, relatively cheap to produce, and can be added to or relined easily. Their disadvantages are lack of retention, prone to fracture, tissue supported, which can lead to gum recession.
Acrylic on chrome dentures are much stronger and as a result can be made less bulky. The denture is retained by cast clasps and occlusal rests, so retention is good and the chances of soft tissue damage are reduced.
